Byron Design Thinking Brand Identity

Byron Design Thinking is a grassroots community for designers and product people in Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers, bringing together local practitioners through talks, events, and collaboration. What started as a regional meetup has since expanded into a national network, with chapters in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane adopting the same identity framework.

I developed the logo and brand identity, centring the mark around a lightbulb motif — a nod to ideation and creative problem-solving — with a hand-lettered "dt" monogram sitting naturally inside the form. The result is approachable but considered: something that feels community-driven without looking amateur. The identity was designed to scale, making it easy for new city chapters to adopt and adapt while maintaining a consistent visual thread across the network.
